The Old Lattice Bridge

This covered toll bridge to Alabama, built 1867-69, was completed by Horace King, the formerly enslaved master bridge-builder freed in 1846; repeatedly wrecked by Chattahoochee floods and rebuilt, it served until a new span opened in 1925.
