The Fayetteville City Cemetery is the historic municipal burial ground of Fayetteville, the Fayette County seat that took shape in the early 1820s, and its oldest markers reach back to that founding era. Set on Stonewall Avenue near the center of town, it holds more than two thousand recorded interments that trace nearly two centuries of local families.
