Emory University Planetarium

The Emory University Planetarium is a teaching planetarium inside the Mathematics and Science Center on Emory's Atlanta campus, off Dowman Drive. The intimate 56-seat theater sits beneath a 35-foot dome, where the night sky is projected by a German-made Zeiss Skymaster ZKP3 star projector capable of recreating the heavens over Atlanta or any point in either hemisphere, and of winding the sky forward or backward to any moment in time. Emory's installation is notable for being the only Zeiss Skymaster in the world mounted on its own rising platform. Used chiefly for undergraduate astronomy instruction, it also hosts seasonal public programs celebrating the cosmos.
