Trees Atlanta

Trees Atlanta is a nonprofit conservation organization founded in 1985 to protect and expand the metro area's celebrated urban forest through planting, preservation, and education. It grew out of an effort led by Marcia Bansley in partnership with Central Atlanta Progress, the Junior League of Atlanta, and the city's parks commissioner, planting its first 46 trees along Carnegie Way in 1986. Since then the organization has planted well over one hundred thousand trees and become one of Atlanta's most widely recognized environmental groups. Beyond planting, Trees Atlanta stewards natural areas such as the Atlanta BeltLine Arboretum and offers educational programming, tours, and volunteer opportunities across the region.
