This burial ground adjoins Air Line Baptist Church, which was organized in 1874 by several local families, among them the Brownings, Heads, Hulseys, and Martins. The congregation took its name from the old Air Line Railroad, later folded into the Norfolk Southern system, that ran through this corner of northern Hall County. More than five hundred graves now fill the churchyard along White Sulphur Road, tracing generations of the surrounding rural community north of Gainesville.
