On November 16, 1864, Kilpatrick's Union cavalry drove Iverson's Confederates south to Bear Creek Station (today's Hampton), where the 10th Ohio Cavalry smashed through hasty rail barricades, took prisoners, and pushed the Rebels toward Griffin.
