This 1935 Georgian Revival dormitory is the last surviving building of Dorchester Academy, the American Missionary Association school for Black children. In the early 1960s the SCLC ran Citizenship School workshops here, and Dr. King held a retreat here in early 1963 to plan the Birmingham campaign.
