The Story
This small family burial ground lies in the old Englishville locality southwest of Oglethorpe, reached by a track that runs a few hundred feet off Hill English Road into what is now a planted pine tree farm. The oldest graves are gathered within a brick enclosure, surrounded by several wrought-iron plot railings in varying states of repair. English family descendants have kept the site up over the years, clearing brush and noting the depressions that mark additional unmarked burials. Roughly four dozen graves have been documented here.
