The Story
Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery lies beside the congregation's old white clapboard meetinghouse on Highway 109 in the Lifsey community, just east of Molena in Pike County. Local tradition holds that the church dates back to roughly 1879, and the earliest graves are clustered on the left side of the building, where crooked rows and family plots wind among the markers. A number of the oldest resting places are marked only by plain fieldstones set at the head and foot, and the burial ground remains in use today with more than 500 recorded interments.
