Traveler's Rest State Historic Site

Built around 1815 as a stagecoach inn on the Unicoi Turnpike, this plantation house was enlarged by Devereaux Jarrett, the 'richest man in the Tugaloo Valley.' Georgia preserved it in the 1950s as a historic site.
