The Story
Hillview Cemetery is a historic municipal burial ground in LaGrange, sitting along East Bacon Street opposite the neighboring Shadowlawn Cemetery and administered by the City of LaGrange. Dating to the nineteenth century, it holds thousands of graves representing many of the town's prominent families, and the Troup County Archives has documented its notable lots and monuments. Members of the well-known Callaway family were originally interred here before some were reburied at a separate family cemetery.
