GeorgiaThe Bentley Rare Book Gallery is a rare-book collection at Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Georgia, housed on the lower level of the Horace W. Sturgis Library. Founded in 1986 and named for principal benefactors Fred D. Bentley Sr. and his wife Sarah, it documents the history of the written and printed word, with holdings that range from Sumerian clay tablets and medieval manuscript leaves to fine-press editions and books printed in the Cherokee language. In 2017 the collection, by then exceeding ten thousand items, formally became a museum, and it is regarded as one of only a few museum-grade rare-book repositories in Georgia alongside those at the University of Georgia and Emory. The institution supports teaching and research through workshops, exhibitions, and community programs; it was renamed the Robert B. Williams Rare Book Museum in 2025.
