The Tour

The Campus Green, Owl country, and a stadium built for the Hoot. A self-guided Georgia Roam campus tour.

Kennesaw State University Campus Tour is a self-guided walking tour of Kennesaw, built around its campus side. It's one of 2 Georgia Roam tours in Kennesaw — each a different route through the city, on your own schedule.

The walk covers 5 stops over about 0.5 miles and roughly 1 hour 30 min, entirely at your own pace. Each stop's story unlocks on your phone the moment you arrive — GPS-triggered, hands-free, no guide and no tour group to keep up with.

What you'll see

This walk covers the busy middle of the Kennesaw campus, the part of KSU that has grown the fastest. It centers on the Campus Green, a big central lawn ringed by academic buildings, dining and residence halls. On a weekday during the semester it's full of students. You'll pass the James V. Carmichael Student Center, whose arched entrance is the everyday meeting point for the Owls, and the Horace W. Sturgis Library, named for the college's first president.

The library has a hidden treat: KSU's free rare book museum, where the collection runs from Sumerian clay tablets to 17th-century Shakespeare folios. The walk also takes in the Bailey Performance Center, the concert hall of KSU's music school, and the stadium where the Owls began playing football in 2015. Ten years later that team won a conference title.

The route is only about half a mile on foot, but allow an hour or more if you plan to go inside anywhere. Weekday afternoons in fall and spring show the campus at its liveliest. On football Saturdays, parking and crowds change completely. Visitor parking is paid, so check KSU Parking and Transportation before you arrive. The Georgia Roam app tells each stop's story as you walk up.
